Shipping Information

 Almost all of the items you find on our website have been indiviudually sourced and restored. This means that when you buy from us you are are getting a piece of furniture like no other, but it also means we can't just take one off the shelf and ship it to you from a convenient central warehouse location.


We work with specialist furniture couriers to get furniture to you in the most cost-effective, reliable manner possible, but as a small charity we are unable to absorb their charges into our day-to-day running costs.  As a result the shipping charged on the website are a reflection of those courier costs.


Collection & Local Delivery 


Many items are available to collect during normal business hours, from the specific store location shown on the product page. To help everything go smoothly, please let us know ahead of time if you are planning to collect your furniture, so that we can make sure it's readily accessible for you. Address and contact details for each store can also be found on our 'Stores' page. Please note that proof of purchase and identity will be required when collecting items that were purchased online.

If you live within 5 miles of the store where the furniture is located we may be able to incorporate delivery into our local delivery system. Please contact us to discuss this option prior to purchase.


Delivery Times


We aim to deliver all pieces within 14-21 days of purchase, although delivery to some locations or those using a 2 man service may take a little longer than this on occasions. Delivery of items can be postponed and pieces stored for short periods at the customers request.


After you make a purchase we will return your items to our workshop for checking over and packaging, and then book an appropriate courier service - this usually happens within a couple of days. Once they have been notified of your order, and an idea of their delivery schedule for your delivery area, the courier will contact you directly to arrange a suitable delivery slot.


If you purchase multiple items from different locations we will usually group your whole order together at one of our locations before despatching with the courier, so that you only have to recieve a single delivery with all of your items. This may delay shipping your order a little.


Delivery Areas


Our standard delivery service covers most of England, Wales, and southern Scotland, but does not cover Jersy, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, nor post code areas AB, DD, KY, HS, IV, KW, PH and ZE in northern Scotland. There are some areas of FK (8-21), KA (27-28) and PA (20-80) postcodes that are also outside of our standard delivery area.

Each product page shows the shipping band and cost for that item to be shipped individually. If you buy more than one item, then the shipping charge for the largest item will be full price, and further items will be charged at half of the listed delivery cost for that band. For example, shipping for a band 3 item and a band 2 item will cost £93: £66 (for the band 3 item) + £27 for the band 2 item. 


Our standard courier service involves a single person delivery team who may need help with larger items to move them from the van to a ground floor room of your choice. If there is no one available to assist in this way then a two man delivery - which may be selected at checkout - may be a better option for you.

We sometimes have items that require more specific handling on delivery. These might be particularly large or heavy items, or may require some skilled assembly. These products are marked as "Band 0" on the product page... please get in touch to talk about the specifics of an item like this before making a purchase - you won't be able to select a delivery option at checkout if your order contains one of these items!


Returns & Refunds


We are confident that you will be delighted with your furniture, but in the event that you should wish to return an item to us, we are pleased to respect your right to a 14 day money back guarantee for items purchased online, beginning on the day your items are delivered. This means you have the right to cancel your order for any reason, up to 14 days after you receive your furniture, and receive a full refund for items purchased. Please note that the delivery charge is non-refundable and you will also be liable for return carriage charges.
