A statement piece like this Queen Anne chest on stand brings a sense of heritage and elegance to any interior. Whether placed in a grand hallway, traditional bedroom, or formal living space, it offers both impressive storage and timeless visual appeal. Its tall proportions, cabriole legs, and rich walnut tones reflect the refined craftsmanship of the 18th century.

This early Georgian chest is made in two parts: a tall bank of drawers sits atop a lower base with three smaller drawers and shaped apron detailing. The original brass handles and escutcheons remain in place, complementing the beautifully figured walnut veneers on the drawer fronts and sides. Standing on four cabriole legs with pad feet, the piece has a sculptural quality, while the arrangement of drawers provides generous and practical storage.

The surface has been carefully stripped and refinished with several coats of hard-wearing matte lacquer, enhancing the warm tones and grain pattern of the walnut veneer. Due to its age, there are various dents and marks across the piece, consistent with long-term use. Some sections of veneer are either missing or have been previously repaired, most notably around the lower edges and drawer fronts. This piece is constructed from walnut and walnut veneer, with pine used for the drawer bases and the back.

Rich in character and history, this chest on stand is ideal for those seeking an authentic period piece with genuine 18th-century craftsmanship and presence.
