A bureau bookcase is a space-saving solution that combines practical storage with traditional charm, making it ideal for studies, living rooms, or hallways. With its tall proportions and dual function as both writing desk and display cabinet, this piece is suited to interiors where elegance meets utility.

This oak bureau bookcase features a leaded glass upper cabinet with three shelves, perfect for displaying books or decorative items. Below, the fall-front bureau opens to reveal a fitted interior with pigeonholes, a small drawer, and a smooth writing surface. The lower section offers two spacious drawers, each fitted with period-style drop handles. The piece stands on turned front legs with shaped stretchers, adding to its balanced, classic appearance.

The original finish has been fully stripped and professionally refinished with several coats of hard-wearing matte lacquer, enhancing the natural warmth and grain of the oak while providing long-term protection. This item is made from oak, with a plywood back and plywood drawer bases. One of the leaded glass panes has a visible crack but remains intact and secure.

Functional, decorative, and full of traditional character, this is a highly practical storage and display piece with enduring appeal.
